Open Source Notices
Version 1.0 — Effective date: August 2, 2026 — Last updated: August 2, 2026
This page lists the third-party open-source software that WCAGC distributes to you, together with the licence terms that apply to it and where to obtain its source code. It exists because distributing software carries obligations that using it does not, and we would rather state them in one public place than bury them in a package.
1. axe-core (browser extension)
The wcagc browser extension for Chrome and Edge bundles the axe-core accessibility engine, version 4.12.1, Copyright © 2015–2026 Deque Systems, Inc.
- Licence: Mozilla Public License, version 2.0. The complete licence text ships inside the extension package as
MPL-2.0.txt. - Source Code Form: the source of the exact version we distribute is publicly available at github.com/dequelabs/axe-core (tag v4.12.1) and from the npm registry as
axe-core@4.12.1(npm pack axe-core@4.12.1). - Modifications: none. The file shipped in the extension is byte-identical to the file published in that release. If we ever modify it, we will publish the modified files under the MPL and update this page.
DEQUE, AXE, and AXE-CORE are trademarks of Deque Systems, Inc. WCAGC is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Deque Systems, Inc. We name the library because you are entitled to know which engine produced a finding, not to suggest any association.
2. Software we publish
@wcagc/source-tag is our own Vite plugin, published under the MIT licence. It adds a relative source path to elements during development so that the extension's DevTools panel can point at the file that produced a finding.

- Package:
@wcagc/source-tagon npm
3. Other components
The WCAGC web application and its server-side services run on open-source components that we use but do not redistribute to you. Those components stay on our own infrastructure, so their licences impose no notice obligation towards visitors of this site. If you have a specific licensing question about a component we operate, write to hello@wcagc.com.
